CARPENTER COLLECTION
The Carpenter Collection is the first line of objects from Brian Cash Works. Taking cues from the ornament and handmade spirit of Carpenter Gothic architecture, the collection pairs a made-to-order armchair and room divider with a set of limited edition patchwork quilts, each reinterpreting the style through a contemporary lens.
A folding screen that turns the American quilt into a piece of architecture. Panels are upholstered on front with high-gloss lacquer finish on back. Four panels shown here; additional panels may be added. Screen hinges in polished stainless steel finish.

A celestial labyrinth. This design draws inspiration from mid-19th century American “Stars” and “Garden Maze” quilts. Each quilt is a one-of-a-kind collectible and can be used as a bedcover or wall hanging. A sleeve for a hanging rod (not included) can be hand-sewn onto the back upon request.
All quilts arrive having undergone a wash cycle. For at-home care, please machine-wash cold on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry at the lowest setting (or lay flat to air dry). Some minor additional shrinkage may occur. Actual colors may differ slightly from what you see on screen.

On the chair and screen, cerused and ebonized North American oak is set against high-gloss ivory lacquer, a delicate balance of high and low. The legs and screen posts are tapered octagons (a shape that borders on obsession here at BC.W), giving both pieces a lightness despite their severe silhouettes. Custom patchwork brings a soft, folk layer to the furniture and carries through to the quilts, rounding out the collection.
