When we first visited this 1852 Greek Revival brownstone, what caught our eye was the view from its window: the red neon sign of the Hotel St. George, which for half a century was a center of gay male life in Brooklyn, home to Hart Crane, Tennessee Williams, and Truman Capote. Rather than another serene retreat, we imagined a hotel-inspired bedroom shaped by that history, where a patchwork quilt sits beside a pouf with BDSM detailing and flesh-toned walls envelop dark, rigid furniture. The room also debuts three pieces from our Carpenter Collection.
